Starving cancer cells for better treatment

Pancreatic cancer is hard to treat, since the cancer cells can block drugs and immune cells. Furthermore, they can pull nutrients from nearby tissue. In experiments with mice, researchers were able to change the environment to starve the cancer cells and make them more receptive for immune cells and therapeutic drugs.
