New Treatment for Autism

In animal experiments, it was found that a very low dose of romidepsin, a drug used in the treatment of cancer, can have a strong and long-lasting effect in reducing the symptoms of autism. The drug seems to be able to restore genes whose absence is responsible for the social deficits in autism.
